From a quiet spring to 17 quote requests in a month
Legendary Landscaping builds interlock patios, retaining walls, and hardscape across Ottawa. I rebuilt their site, took over local SEO and their Google Business Profile, then layered in a focused Google Ads campaign. Here's what happened, month by month, from the site relaunch through July 2026.
The situation
Bradley Laplante built Legendary Landscaping on the strength of the work itself — interlock, retaining walls, hardscape that holds up through Ottawa winters. What the business didn't have was a reliable way for people searching for that work to find it. The old site wasn't built for local search, the Google Business Profile was under-optimized, and there was no paid channel bringing in demand on its own terms.
The goal wasn't a redesign for its own sake. It was quote requests — people who'd already decided they wanted a quote, filling out the form or picking up the phone.
Four months, in order
No single tactic did this. Each month built on the last.
Site rebuild goes live
New site launched, built for speed and structured for local search from the start. Early days — the SEO groundwork hadn't had time to show up in rankings yet.
The SEO pass
Titles, headings, and canonical tags fixed sitewide. Star-rating schema and alt text added across every service page. Sitemap resubmitted. Review generation became a habit, not an afterthought — eight new reviews landed in a single month.
Google Ads launches — and the first month is honest
Ads went live June 15, narrowed to interlock and hardscape only, with three landing pages built specifically for those searches, sitewide conversion tracking, and a rebuilt free-quote form. The first two weeks brought $159 in spend and one lead — a normal cost for a campaign still calibrating. Organic search impressions were already climbing in the background, more than doubling from May.
It compounds
Quality Score tuning on the landing pages, duplicate service pages consolidated, the quote form hardened against drop-off. Ad spend nearly doubled to $294 — and cost per lead fell to roughly a quarter of June's, at about $42. Search impressions kept climbing, now over four times May's level, as the site earned visibility for a wider spread of searches.
What a month of tuning did to ad costs
Same channel, same budget range, one month apart.
Both figures are total ad spend divided by leads attributed to Google Ads for the calendar month. Organic quote requests (phone calls and form fills without an ad click) are separate and counted in the monthly totals above.
“JD Media’s ideas on what we can do next to bring in more business are impressive.”
